Shelves....

We have some new shelves up on the wall today....

This wall sits between two windows in the kitchen area and has always looked very, well, sad and bare.....

Yes? Yes. I used to think I wanted a big picture of some sort up there, then I considered a pinboard but that may have ended up too messy looking? Soooo, after hours (and hours) (and more hours) of staring at gorgeous pics and blogs that had shelves filled with pretty and interesting objects I decided that I needed some too. And that this was the perfect spot.....

Better? I think so! After searching, with not much luck, for some nice painted timber shelves in the right size and colour etc I ended up buying these not-very-attractive ones from mitre 10 (under $20 each!) and just slapped some paint on them. And i'm pretty happy with how they turned out...

There's still screwholes to be filled and painted over....

And some hooks to be hung under the bottom shelf for cups to hang.....

But that shouldn't stand in the way of making a big mess in the kitchen, pulling things out of cupboards I'd forgotten I had and playing around with them....

           Best have some flowers.....

And a pair of kissing fish of course......

Things have already been changed around abit since I took these pics but hopefully that's half the fun of having somewhere like this to have things out of the cupboard and not hidden away...
But let's not even mention dust shall we....

One more of the pretty flowers?......

Enjoy your day....
